Social Media Round Up – Pepsimojis And Instagram Photo Calls

TOP QUALITY FROM TWITTER_

Twitter is taking a stand against bullies and trolls by giving all users access to a previously exclusive ‘quality filter’. The feature works by filtering out low-quality content, such as duplicated or intentionally offensive tweets, from a user’s notifications and timeline. With the aim of creating a safer social media experience, users will have the option to turn the feature on and off through their notifications settings.

#PEPSIMOJI_

This week, Twitter announced that Pepsi will become the first brand to provide sponsored emojis on the social media platform. Twitter Stickers launched back in June allowing users to add their favourite emojis to a photograph, which has created some extremely creative works of art. Now Twitter users have an additional 50 Pepsi themed emojis to customise photographs with #PepsiMoji. Our personal favourite is the sun with sunglasses on – perfect for the warm weather!

INSTAGRAM RECITAL_

It’s a good week for social media photographers, Russian ballerina, Irina Kolesnikova, has decided to use fans’ Instagram photos instead of professional photographers for her latest production. Kolesnikova is hoping to make ballet more accessible to a younger audience and asked fans to gather at the London Coliseum to snap away as she rehearsed for new production ‘Her Name Was Carmen’. You can check out fans’ great images of Irina and the cast dancing away with the hashtag #BalletShot.

WELCOME BACK TEAM GB_

After becoming slightly obsessed with the Olympics, it was time to welcome Team GB back home! Following the amazing efforts at the Rio Games, the athletes were welcomed back in style on-board a gold-nosed British Airways flight. The athletes on the flight took to Twitter posting photos with their medals, and of course champagne, using the hashtag #greattobeBAck. British Airways used the hashtags to share images of Adam Peatly and Will Satch in the pilot seat, the women’s hockey team enjoying a glass of well-deserved bubbly and Max Whitlock performing gymnastics in first class. Welcome home Team GB!
