Great Campaigns – United Against Dementia
There has been a strong focus recently on mental health not least thanks to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry’s campaigning efforts and the launch of their Heads Together initiative which has received high levels of coverage. More attention is being paid to the issues and challenges of managing mental health as well as the solutions that are available. One campaign echoing these sentiments which caught our eye recently here at Siren was the McCann London advertising campaign for the Alzheimer’s Society. The team has produced a short film featuring members of the 1966 World Cup team. Three members of that celebrated crew, Martin Peters, Nobby Stiles and Ray Wilson have sadly been diagnosed with dementia. So it seems appropriate that their footballing comrades continue to demonstrate the strong team ethos that saw them lift the trophy all those years ago for what many would argue is a much worthier cause. It is a sympathetic but more importantly effective tactic in highlighting another important area of mental health. Worth watching and supporting if you can.
