Social Media Round Up – It’s Christmaaaaassss
INSTAGRAM HAS GONE STICKER-TASTIC_
Instagram took a(nother) step closer to Snapchat this week and introduced stickers which people can add to their posts in Instagram Stories. Even better, in line with the festive season there are holiday related stickers too! So users can add candy canes, sweets, Christmas trees and snowmen to their temporary posts and spread the festive cheer.
This new update pulls Instagram in line with other communications services such as Apple and Google who have also added stickers to their messaging apps. The stickers are really easy to use, Instagram users just need to tap the smiley face icon in the top right hand corner of the screen, select their chosen sticker and then place it where they want on their post.
HE’S REAL AND HERE’S THE PROOF_
Well the big day is almost here with just two more sleeps to go but if you’re feeling stressed that you aren’t prepared and haven’t yet bought and wrapped all your presents, spare a thought for the main man in the red suit who doubtless is making his list and checking it twice. And if you’re reading this in doubtful laughter let us assure you that there is proof (if ever proof were needed) that Santa Claus DOES exist.
He has a Facebook profile. What more proof do you need? And even though this is his busiest time of year, he still finds time to post from the North Pole with pics of the reindeer, poetry, uplifting quotes and photos of Alaskan scenery and even announcing his candidacy for President. If you don’t believe us, check out his page here. It might be too late now to send him a message with your wish list but there’s always next year! Merry Christmas all!!
WORKING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND_
Our favourite viral video of the week has to be of our new festive hero Melissa O’Neill in Pennsylvania. Melissa works in an office of bland cubicles and rather than the usual bit of tinsel around the computer monitor (a Siren office favourite) Melissa took the office cubicle decorating contest to a new level and turned her work space into a full on Christmas cabin complete with “snow” on the roof, trees, fairy lights, the lot! Melissa, you hero, you! We salute you!
